About the Artist
Clara Sue Beym, lives in Bayville, NJ with her husband of 45 years. Recently retired from her career as an award-winning graphic designer for Educational Testing Service where she has designed websites, large-format graphics, international ad campaigns, publications, book covers, trade magazines and more. Clara has been involved in the creative thinking and brand identity of several international campaigns throughout her career. Clara's career as a successful graphic designer spans decades. Her designs have won awards and published in Graphic Design USA, a trade magazine, as well as Astra Gold Award through the NJ CAMA Association.

Clara Sue has always had an interest in painting. She likes to interpret the beauty of nature in bright colors, bold brush strokes and is very influenced by Impressionism. She enjoys painting paints seascapes, landscapes, animals, buildings a custom scenes. Her training in architectural drawing and many years of graphic design has led to her special talent in rendering beautiful house portraits in watercolor. Clara also paints custom Pet Portraits. Clara Sue often paints Plein Air. Watercolor is her medium of choice, but she also paints in acrylics, oils and pastels. Clara Sue is a Signature Member of the Garden State Watercolor Society She is on the GSWCS executive board, where she assists with social media and is their webmaster. As a member of Ocean County Artist Guild, and Pine Shores Art Association. Clara Sue has exhibited at galleries throughout NJ. Clara has had several solo exhibit at the Ocean County Library, Ocean County Artist Guild and the Small World Cafe in Princeton, NJ. Clara has been pursuing Watercolor Torn Paper Collage making using her watercolor paintings that are repurposed and recycled into new pieces of art that a whimsical and somewhat abstract. Her paintings have been published on book covers, magazine covers, posters and sold to interior designers. Clara is also pursuing other forms of art such as Printmaking, and is part of a group of women print-makers at the Ocean County Artist's Guild. Clara teaches this unique form of art at Pine Shores Art Association and at the Ocean County Artist Guild in Island Heights, NJ.
Clara routinely donates her paintings to non-for-profit fundraisers to raise money for worthy causes. Several of Clara's paintings are currently in the permanent collection of Mercer County Cultural Affairs, Hamilton Twp Historical Society, and Berkeley Twp Historical Society.
